The skills list that is available in has also evolved. As someone who played all the Diablo games, it was a little difficult to get used to. The options provided to players offer flexibility to adapt to their own playstyles, but won't leave newbies feeling confused. As a Barbarian one could concentrate on dual-wielding weapons that allow for faster attacks that do more damage or use the two-handed slashing weapon order to use a spinning attack that lets me slice through large groups of enemies. The tree was a buffet of attacks, however there was a reason to it all as it was previously in Diablo games.
Like any Diablo game, there are plenty of dungeons you need to conquer within Diablo 4. but the game's open world feature provides a new dimension to the adventure. I was surprised when I found myself on a mountain and there was an option to "climb down" that led to a different part within the area.
Although it's not an extensive, vast open world like Elden Ring or The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild however it was interesting to have more expansive area to explore. The previous Diablo games had maps generated by procedural means that were big, yet limited. While Fractured Peak was still restricted yet it didn't feel like I was restricted to maps. There are horses available to purchase but only after completing some quests more accessible later.
In the time I played the build I was captivated by the storyline of Diablo 4 as well as the way it played, which isn't something I was experiencing in Diablo 3 where it was the game's gameplay which kept me coming back but the story was gone. When you combine that with an open world, I was even more intrigued to explore and also contemplating the ways I could build my Barbarian. It's the combination of story and gameplay that makes what I played with Diablo 4 so interesting and is sure to cheap Diablo 4 Gold be so for those who love it when it comes out.
