World of Warcraft recently announced a new update which removes hundreds of inappropriate references as "innuendos" removed from the gameplay. This 9.1.5 update is now accessible in the World of Warcraft's Public Test Realm, but the release  date for the patch has not yet been determined.

The new update comes amid an array of other changes being made at Activision Blizzard in the wake of the lawsuits filed against them. Leaders of employees at this company announced their departure in the last few weeks, while other affiliates have spoken out and claimed Activision Blizzard perpetuates a toxic working environment. In light of these developments, World of Warcraft developers are committed to eliminating inappropriate references, and it appears that coming patches are expected to include several modifications to deliver on that commitment.

As per the patches notes published on the website of Wowhead (via Polygon), the World of Warcraft 9.1.5 update is "part of a broader effort to bring up-to-date parts of the game that were outdated and inconsistent with their values." The development team is said to have changed some NPC jokes and lines such as "When getting angry and in a state of heat a female troll can mate more than 80 times in one night. Are you ready?" or "Mmm. I'm going to tap that leyline." In addition, the game zone Mac'Aree is named after former Blizzard worker Jesse McCree, who was removed from the company after its first lawsuit went public - will also have their name changed Eredath. McCree also contributed his name and name to Overwatch character McCree and is scheduled to change as well.

Certain of the changes coming in the coming World of Warcraft patch pertain to the names of mounts and quests. That being said, not every change in the next patch will be focused around scrubbing the game of indecent content. The patch will also include many game-balancing and quality-of-life updates also, including a few that World of Warcraft players have been asking for for a long time.

Whatever the case, whether or not these modifications in World of Warcraft drastically improve the game experience, these changes surely won't harm. At the minimum, the team working on the game appears to be taking the criticism from World of Warcraft players seriously. The game's fixes seem insignificant compared to real-world policy changes However, it is apparent that the efforts were some time away.
