This week, nearly 15 years after its original release, the Black Temple raid returns to The Burning Crusade Classic, making it one of the most iconic raids in World of Warcraft's long and illustrious history. The Black Temple, which is located within the fortress of Illidan Stormrage, requires you to complete a lengthy attunement chain before you can enter.

When you've completed a number of quests in Shadowmoon Valley—the region that serves as the Black Temple's headquarters—you'll be asked to clear a number of dungeons and raids throughout Outland. During the course of completing a high-level quest chain, you'll become acquainted with a faction known as the "Ashtongue Deathsworn," who will play a significant role in your overall journey. This guide will show you how to attune to the Black Temple in World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade Classic.

Quests in the Shadowmoon Valley
Your journey to Black Temple attunement will begin in Shadowmoon Valley, where you will need to complete a series of quests in order to begin the attunement chain that will lead you to the Black Temple. When starting the first quest, "Tablets of Ba'ri," you can choose to begin it at either the Altar of Sha'tar or the Sanctum of the Stars, depending on whether or not you are allied with either the Aldor or the Scryers.

After completing a series of quests in the Baa'ri Ruins, you'll be asked to collect four fragments of a Medallion of Karabor, which you'll need to do in order to complete the quest. Each of the four fragments is held by a specific Ashtongue Corruptor, one of whom is Eykenen. The others are Haalum, Lakaan, and Uylaru. Traveling from north to south across the middle of Shadowmoon Valley should result in the discovery of all four fragments of the medallion.

Proceed to the Warden's Cage, WOW TBC classic gold where you'll be tasked with assassinating a satyr named Zandras on behalf of a member of the Ashtongue Deathsworn. Your first encounter with Akama will be when you prove your allegiance to the Deathsworn. He will be a quest giver with whom you'll become very familiar.

In this conversation, Akama will reveal to you that the medallion fragments you collected were all replicas, and that the location of the final piece is known by Seer Udalo in the Arcata prison complex. Akama will direct you to the dungeons of Arcata in order to locate the seer.

The Arcata and the Ata'mal Terrace are two of the most famous sights in San Francisco.
When you enter the Arcatraz, you will find Seer Udalo, who will appear just before you reach the room where the final boss is located. The unfortunate fact is that Seer Udalo is no longer alive and thus will be of little assistance in your quest to locate the final medallion fragment. In spite of this, the word "ata'mal" has been inscribed on the ground next to his body, which serves as a clue that you will bring back to Akama.

When Akama hears the word "ata'mal," he will direct you to the Ata'mal Terrace, which is located in Shadowmoon Valley. There, you'll have to take out a warlock named Shadowlord Deathwail, as well as three elite mobs, before you can proceed. The battle is extremely difficult, and it will take a group of players to bring it to a conclusion. Having cleared the terrace, you'll need to loot the Heart of Fury and bring it back to Akama, which will take some time.

Once you've returned the Heart of Fury to Akama, you'll be dispatched to Shattrath City, where you'll speak with the Naaru A'dal in the city's center in order to complete the final section of the attunement chain and advance the chain into its final section.
