Mining The mining skill is best used at RuneScape Gold the initial stages of crafting. If you are not afraid of taking a bit of time to mine and want to save money, mining is the right choice for you. If you want to just mine, you should know that level 85 (Unless you are looking for the mining skillcape) is the best level to reach. It is possible to mine any ore at lvl 85.

Smithing: Levels 1-15 - Just mine some tin or copper ore and melt them into bronze bars and then smith them into weapons. Do this until Smithing is at level 15. Levels 15 through 31: You are now able to mine or smelt iron. This is not recommended as iron doesn't always make a bar. I tried this, and it is the worst way to get to 31 levels. Instead, complete The Knight's Sword quest. It's easy and will immediately raise your smithing level to 31.

Levels 31 to 99 Levels 31 to 99: Now is the perfect time to buy some iron or coal and get started smelting bars. Make sure you purchase 2x as many iron-rich coals, e.g. 15 iron, 30 coal). You don't have to try to smith them. Sell them on the Grand Exchange (G.E.). For every steel bar that you sell to the G.E you will be paid 914gp. You can stop smelting steel bars once you have reached 1M gp. You can recover the entire amount of money you've lost by making rune items.

Tips: What I found out just now that I am at lvl 68, is that I want to get to 1M gp so that I can buy all of the gold ore I need to get to lvl 99. If I am able to smelt new metal (for me it will be at level 70, with an the addy) is that I will mine the ore and required coal and smelt 15 bars of the new metal.As I increase my skills, I'll be able to craft every weapon I want and then I can sell them for more money and exp. when I sell at G.E.
