Blizzard has stated that it wants to d2r items change as little as is feasible for Diablo 2: Resurrected. This isn't a remake, instead, it's a remaster. The goal is to enhance the visuals of the game and offer slight quality-of-life enhancements without altering what fans love from the initial. As any dedicated Blizzard player will tell you that this is a crucial step that the developer must do due to the controversy surrounding Blizzard's disastrous Warcraft 3 remaster.
