That's because Archaeology is so much more than a skill. On one hand, it is a gathering ability, similar to woodcutting or fishing. You're going to get all of this and much more in January 2020. Let's begin digging in... Archaeology, the Gathering Skill. You'll have the ability to earn these, and you'll experience that easy joy of progressing through the mattocks as you level. For the hardcore among you, there are particular ones to locate; you have probably have a good notion of how you are going to add the crystal mattock, Imcando mattock and the mattock of distance and time, for instance.
It's with the mattocks you will gain your initial Archaeology XP. Find excavation hotspots at dig sites, find and keep materials from lost ages, and find those dusty gains. How will it feel? There is a smidge of this Mining Rework, since there's no competition; you're all doing it at exactly the same spaces; and sometimes excavation sites will end up extra-worthwhile, emphasized by a time sprite in a similar manner to rockertunities.
While you are likely to be spending a decent quantity of time collecting, the true fun -- and the biggest chunk of XP -- comes in the manufacturing side of the art. Occasionally, as you excavate, you will discover damaged artefacts. They'll be broken when you locate them, and it is your responsibility to animate them.
This is where the substances from the collecting element of this skill will really help. You will need particular materials for every artefact, and there's real fun to be had in OSRS Gold For Sale gambling and swapping with other players to get the materials you want. Repairing an artefact is truly the lion's share of the XP. You are going to get a giant chunk when they are done. But what can you do with these artefacts once you have them?
