Can you even play back then? Skillcapes were outside a couple of months for all until we experienced a huge surge. I've given you plenty of connections, even a quotation from Andrew that mentions macroing burst in 2007. Anyhow, happy my response can make you'lmfao' if you have given me such responses. I was 15 at 2007 and I had multiple 99s by 2008. Like, what do you own a spreadsheet you are compiling over the last 15 decades? Lmao.
Again you mentioned connects skillcapes to world trading and bots. None of the links addressing real world trading cites skillcapes ONCE. Hilarious how horribly your logic fails and you still think you're right. They mention many thousand folks were becoming for buying golden banned. I was also 15 in 2007 (fellow'92er). Once the explosion of botting was obvious for all to see during 2007, why the hell would I maintain a spreadsheet?
I do not have Jagex directly saying skillcapes caused botting, just that RS2 had been out for over 2 years until Skillcapes came out and we did not have uncontrolled botting. However within 6 months of Skillcapes being out F2P worlds were swamped with them and tens of thousands were being banned every week for buying gold. Your passive aggressive tone with every reply whilst offering absolutely nothing is shit btw.
Poster. Correlation does not equal causation. There were tons of different updates around those times also, and selecting one and saying"this caused botting" doesn't make it evidence that it did. Bots increase based on ease of access to computing, understanding that Runescape is number of players in general, and one which can be botted for gain. Botting will always increase as the playerbase or popularity of Runescape increases, since there is more money. Skillcapes didn't cause this increase.
I don't have a counterargument to your point especially. I just felt like saying that personally, while in theory that the argument that Runescape would be better without them might be right, I personally would be less interested in that game. Skillcapes and Max cape would be the reason I created my 1 and only OSRS account and they're the reason I continue to play Runescape. If one mechanic in a game is the driving force behind my 3000+ hours in said game, it is hard to participate in a thought experiment where it's removed. Just some thoughts.
I like the concept of rewarding players to buy RuneScape gold getting a well rounded account. The giant mole is totally ruined by the falador achievement journal. What should be a pleasure, mid level, low attempt boss be basically secured behind 70 prayer, 72 slayer, 56 runecrafting, and a shitton of mining at motherload mine which have nothing to do with your skill to hit a big mole with a large axe.
