Maguire's website also shares information about the factories where its inventory is made. "The types of factory that I work with are very proud; they're usually factories that have been run for generations or they're new factory owners that are trying to change things," she says, adding that her experience in the industry Golden Goose Sale has illustrated how few female-owned factories exist in the world.

The Bata Shoe Museum may be celebrating its 25th anniversary this year, Golden Goose Superstar but its creative director and senior curator Elizabeth Semmelhack has a momentous milestone of her own to celebrate too: 20 years working at the renowned Toronto museum. Semmelhack began working at the museum in 2000 as a curator, armed with a doctorate degree in Japanese art history.
