In recent years, improvised explosive devices (IEDs) have become a widely used means of attack by terrorists and militants. cell phone jammer Their harmfulness is not only limited to areas with frequent terrorist activities such as Jammu and Kashmir, but is also frequently used in other countries and regions. IEDs have become one of the important weapons threatening security and stability due to their low cost, relatively simple manufacturing and great power. GPS jammer Especially in India, the security situation is becoming increasingly severe as militants use drones and other means to transport IEDs across the border into India. signal jammer
IEDs are often detonated by remote control devices, which provides militants with the advantage of remote control, allowing them to detonate at a safe distance. The IEDs and sticky bombs seized by Indian security agencies in Jammu and Kashmir show that this threat not only persists, but has become more complex and frequent. Therefore, the Indian Ministry of Home Affairs decided to strengthen its ability to deal with the threat of IEDs by introducing vehicle-mounted jammers.
Working principle of vehicle-mounted jammers
Vehicle-mounted jammers are high-tech devices used to counter remote-controlled IEDs. They prevent militants from remotely detonating explosive devices by blocking radio signals in specific frequency bands. These devices can effectively interfere with mobile phone signals, radio signals and other communication means used to detonate IEDs, thereby forming a security protection barrier within a few hundred meters.
This equipment is not only crucial for protecting VVIP convoys, but also provides indispensable protection for other high-risk missions. When crossing high-risk areas where terrorist activities are frequent, vehicle-mounted jammers can effectively protect the lives of security forces and dignitaries and prevent hostile militants from carrying out attacks through remote control technology.
Deployment plan of vehicle-mounted jammers
According to the decision of the Indian Ministry of Home Affairs, the first deployment of vehicle-mounted jammers will be concentrated in the Jammu and Kashmir Valley, especially in areas with frequent militant activities such as South Kashmir and Srinagar. Militants in these areas often take advantage of the unstable situation and complex terrain on the border to smuggle improvised explosive devices into India through various means, threatening local security and stability.
In the procurement plan approved by the Ministry of Home Affairs, the first batch of 10 vehicles equipped with RCIED jammers, each worth about 45 million rupees, will be sent to high-risk areas, and the deployment scale may be further expanded according to actual needs. These jammers are not only suitable for high-risk areas in Kashmir, but can also be used in other areas with similar threats, such as areas where Naxalite armed forces are active, to meet broader security challenges.
